StrataMX Backup (Mail Bagging)

Email shouldn’t stop just because your primary mail server is offline. StrataMX Backup—also known as MX Backup or mail bagging—acts as a secondary MX system and safely queues inbound messages whenever your main server is unreachable.

Instead of bouncing, messages are accepted into our redundant infrastructure and automatically delivered when your server comes back online. This protects you during outages, maintenance windows, ISP disruptions, or cloud failures.

MX Backup ensures continuous mail acceptance for on-prem servers, VPS mail systems, hosting providers, and organizations where inbound email uptime is essential.

Under normal operation, StrataMX stays passive—mail goes directly to your primary server. When the server stops accepting connections, remote senders automatically use the StrataMX fallback via MX priority. All messages are retained and delivered once your system recovers.
